PORTLAND -- A Southwest portland woman was found late Tuesday evening dead in her downtown apartment.
Medical examiners said 33-year-old Jaime Larson died of homicidal violence.
Officers were dispatched about 10 p.m. to the Park Terrace Apartments at 2073 Southwest Park Avenue on the report of a dead woman, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Based on what the arriving officers saw, homicide detectives and criminal investigators were called to the scene, he said.
Residents say the complex is generally quiet and houses a lot of college students because of its proximity to Portland State University.
“We were walking home around 10 and we saw a gentleman walking out of the building. He didn’t say 'hi,' he didn’t say anything like that and then 20 minutes after that we saw the ambulance,” neighbor Jared Mccusker said.
Detectives asked anyone who has information about her death, suspicious activity in the area of the Park Terrace Apartments or has seen Larson in the past few days to contact Homicide detectives.
There was no word on any possible suspects in the case.
