MILWAUKIE -- Police in the Portland suburb of Milwaukie say a car came crashing into a house Thursday evening, passing within 20 feet of the spot where two residents were sitting.
Officer Ulli Neitch says neither the residents, nor the two car occupants was hurt. The spokeswoman says that at a curve in the road, the car crossed the oncoming lane, jumped a curb and sidewalk, drove across a yard and crashed through a side wall of the home's attached garage.
The car continued across the garage and punctured the opposite wall, causing extensive damage to the home's front entryway and knocking down furniture.
Neitch says the 31-year-old female driver had just picked up a pizza and was driving home with her 6-year-old son. The posted speed is 25 mph.
The spokeswoman says police cited the driver for excessive speed.
