In 1966 the Western "The Way West", an adaptation of the Pulitzer prize winning novel of the same name by author A. B. Guthrie, was shot on location in Oregon.
It was the first major film role for the then 20 year old actress Sally Field, who went on the win two Academy Awards and multiple Emmy Awards.
This intervew was part of a special KGW presentation on the making of the film that included a tour behind the scenes with actor Kirk Douglas as well as interviews with Richard Widmark, Robert Mitchum and Ms. Field.
