PORTLAND – Hundreds of people, “dead” and alive, turned out Sunday for the 8th Annual Zombie Walk in Southeast Portland.

The event started out in 2006 as a small flash mob of people dressed up as zombies. And it’s been getting bigger each year. The event this year included a “Thriller Dance” and was scheduled to coincide with the premiere of “The Walking Dead” Season 4.

Donations from the walk benefit the Portland Police Bureau’s Sunshine Division, which provides food and clothing for families in need.
