Portland, OR-- A sellout crowd packed Providence Park to cheer on the Portland Timbers against arch rival Seattle.
Members of the Timbers Army started gathering outside the park on Friday. Their seats are general admission but they want the best seats possible.
Inside the crowd went wild and a little rain didn't dampen their spirits.
"This is ideal even if it is raining," one fan said. "We're ready for today trust me, it can't get any better than this."
While the fans cheered the team the Red Cross collected donations for disaster relief. Much of the money will go to the victims of the landslide in Oso, Washington.
Volunteers did the same thing at the last Seattle home match.
"The response today has been good," said one woman. "A lot of people have been very generous."
Timbers fans were a bit disappointed by the outcome of the match. It was exciting but they wanted a win not a draw.
