SALEM – A Salem musician had a big reason to celebrate Monday after the hit Disney musical “Frozen” took home a golden statue at Sunday’s Academy Awards.

Dave Metzger both arranged and orchestrated “Let It Go,” which won Best Original Song.

“I got a piano part and a vocal part,” Metzger said. Then, he had to arrange the music and fill in the song with an 80-piece orchestra.

While Metzger didn’t take home an Oscar statue for his work, he did get a shout out during the acceptance speech.

Metzger said he was just happy to be part of the process.
