PORTLAND – Some restaurants in Multnomah County have posted signs that warn that the business is working with parole officials in an effort to keep gang members out.

The county’s Department of Community Justice created the posters and has encouraged businesses to put them in highly visible areas.

Some of the posters could be seen on the walls at Bill’s Steakhouse in Northeast Portland.

Parole officers said that many of the offenders under their supervision are not even supposed to enter a bar or drink alcohol.

Any businesses that would like to post the signs on their walls were encouraged to contact the Department of Community Justice, through the county.
