PORTLAND -- A fundraiser for Brian Tierney, a popular Portland tenor wounded by gunfire on I-205, ended up with a packed house of supporters Sunday night.

Money raised at the event will help pay for his medical expenses.

Tierney was driving home on March 28th when passersby found him shot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

His family said he is now doing well, but has a long road to recovery.

"It kind of helps me replace something that was taken from me that night," his wife Katie told KGW. "You know it's nice that everyone's been so willing to help. And it's not just people that we know, not just our friends and family, but perfect strangers that don't even know Brian."

The shooting remains under investigation.
