A New Zealand man came face to face with a shark and may have redefined the term "tough guy" in the process.
James Grant was spearfishing with friends off South Island when a shark attacked him.
"I thought it might have been one of my dive buddies. Turned around and I saw a big silver face looking at me and a big body trailing off behind," said Grant.
He used his knife and was able to fight it off but not before getting bit. Grant credits his thick wetsuit for helping protect him.
Grant, who's a doctor, then stitched up his own wounds -- and headed off to a local pub for a beer.
