Lindsay Smith of Vancouver, WA had just finished the 5k race at the Shamrock Run. Ken Ross planned on proposing at the finish line, but since he couldn't find her, he decided he'd climb up on a 4' pillar to more easily spot his bride-to-be. Dressed in St. Patrick's Day flair, Lindsay didn't recognize Ken until her dad enlightened her that the orange-bearded gentleman was her boyfriend. As she approached, Ken handed her a pot of gold. She wondered what he was doing on a pillar with a pot of gold, until Ken removed the "golden" candies and exposed the box for the engagement ring. Lindsay then "freaked out" as she realized what was happening, stole the box, and put the ring on her own finger as she flung the box to the ground. To make a long story short, she said "Yes!" The wedding will be held this September.
