PORTLAND -- A large film crew set up in a popular Portland park over the weekend, to shoot scenes for an episode of the upcoming NBC TV series, "Grimm."
The fantasy cop drama inspired by the Grimm Fairy Tales will first hit the TV screens in October.
This weekend's filming locations was at Macleay Park, in Southwest Portland.
Executive Producer Todd Milliner told KGW that he's determined to shoot all the scenes in Portland.
"We couldn't think of a better place that gave us more fairy tale-like locations. And not only is it beautiful, especially now, when we shot the pilot in March it was a little colder and rainier. But it gave us so many looks that we couldn't possibly re-create in Los Angeles," Milliner explained.
Most of the crew was hired in Portland, too.
The writers of Grimm have worked on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," and "X-Files."
Stars on the show include actors David Giuntoli, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee, Russell Hornsby and actress Bitsie Tulloch.
