WASHINGTON -- Around this time of year, you're probably used to seeing Halloween vandals smashing pumpkins, or maybe even tossing eggs.

But one mom in D.C. decided to take aim at a thief who stole her son's jack-o-lantern from their front porch.

Becky Reina put up a sign outside her home, reading:

To the person who stole my son's pumpkin -- Thank you for the life lesson. This will help teach him that sometimes people are mean for no reason and you have to just brush it off.

Because my son is 2 yrs old and cannot read this sign, I will add: You are an a****le

Reina said she didn’t think the thief would return the pumpkin, but she hoped the sign would make vandals and would-be thieves reconsider.
