GRESHAM, Ore. -- A Gresham man spent all summer building a custom trailer, only to have it stolen from outside his parents’ home last weekend.

Daniel Smith told police it appeared that someone hooked a vehicle up to the trailer and drove off with it. The trailer had been parked in front of Smith's parents’ home on 170th Avenue in Gresham last Friday night.

The custom-built trailer has wooden walls, a white frame and a black top.

“I spent a whole summer building it,” Smith said. “It has all my camping gear and it’s a huge loss for me."

Smith often lived in the camper and said it feels like someone stole his home.

Anyone with information that may help investigators recover the trailer was asked to call Gresham police.
