SEASIDE, Ore. – U.S. Coast Guard crews rescued an injured surfer off the Oregon coast near Seaside Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The surfer was reported injured near Tillamook Head just after 1 p.m., according to Nathan Littlejohn with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Video captured at the scene shows a rescue swimmer being lowered with gear into the ocean. The swimmer placed the injured surfer in the rescue gear, which was hoisted into the helicopter.
The surfer was transported to Life Flight and taken to Oregon Health & Science University.
