BEAVERTON -- You could say history visited Beaverton's Sunset High School Wednesday.

Students there welcomed 30 war veterans with an honor guard Wednesday morning.

As veterans entered the school today, they were greeted by the high-school honor guard made up of student volunteers. The 43 students held American flags in formation in front of the school.

It’s the school’s 'Listening Day,' a program held at Sunset for the past 15 years.

The vets sit down in the school's library and share their experiences with students.

Kids got a sense of what it's like to serve during wartime and they also got life lessons, too. Many of the veterans have been in combat, including two veterans who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
