WASHINGTON -- A White House statement has suggested it's time to make cell phone “unlocking” legal again.
The statement was in response to a petition signed by more than 100,000 people, saying it's their right to switch their phone service carriers after their contracts are up.
Unlocking was banned in January, and the Obama Administration was seeking a prompt evaluation of the issue.
