PORTLAND – Portland Thorns star Alex Morgan will make her return to the field Saturday night when the Thorns host Western New York at Providence Park.
The 24-year-old forward has been working out with her teammates for the past few weeks, but hasn’t played a game since the national match last November.
Since then, she has been recovering from a stress reaction in her left ankle.
Morgan scored eight goals last season to help the Thorns win the league title.
On Thursday, Morgan said she was ready to get back on the field.
“I just feel ready, more than anything,” she said. “I feel like it’s time.”
The Thorns take on Western New York at 7 p.m.
