Bill Pierznik, a laywer, and wife physician wife Mary Pierznik adopted a son from Haiti in 2007. They have since formed a non-profit to funnel financial support to the country.
After the earthquake, their son Richelor remember the people and places where he was born and led an effort to collect $70 from schoolmates.
