Southwest trims Portland daily flights

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Southwest Airlines canceled three flights out of Portland due to a slower season.

Southwest spokesman Chris Mainz said the cancelations included one Portland to Chicago flight, one to Vegas, and one to Spokane.

Mainz said Southwest would continue to fly 39 daily non-stop flights out of Portland.

He said do not look at these as permanent cuts -- a portion of the flights were expected to return in the future.
