Allegiant to start nonstop flights between Bend & Phoenix
10:33 AM PDT on Tuesday, August 12, 2008
BEND, Ore. -- This fall, Allegiant Air is adding nonstop service between Redmond Municipal Airport and Phoenix, Arizona.
The no-frills, low-cost airline already flies between Redmond and Las Vegas.
The airline is also adding a Eugene-Phoenix route and a Medford-Phoenix run.
Allegiant says it will initially offer flights to the Phoenix-Mesa region at a special introductory fare of $69 one-way.
Meanwhile, small towns across Oregon, from Coos Bay to Klamath Falls, have been losing air service recently, thanks to the lagging economy and high fuel prices.
