Portland has risen to the top of yet another ranking, this time as the nation's cleanest city. And the most underrated, whatever that means.

TripAdvisor, a travel website that features hefty feedback from travelers, created a popularity survey to which 3,400 people responded.

New York is the favorite city, Detroit is both the dirtiest, unhealthiest and the least favorite; Cleveland the most boring; Honolulu the most romantic.

The horror: We're also unhappy and unmanly

"Portland, Oregon is a major U.S. city that doesn't get a whole lot of publicity, but is a gem in the eyes of TripAdvisor travelers," said Michele Perry, vice president of communications for TripAdvisor.

What is “underrated”? According to the website “to put Portland’s underrated standing in perspective, Las Vegas (the most overrated city in the survey) received in excess of 100 times more searches than Oregon’s largest city from January through May 2009”. Uh huh.

Respondents said Boston residents had the most annoying accent. Atlanta, ya’ll have the nicest.
