Photo contest invites Ore. travelers to share prize shots

Intel Oregon, in cooperation with The Oregon Travel Information Council and KGW Northwest Newschannel 8 is sponsoring a digital photo competition called Oregon Naturally to feature some of the area’s best amateur photographers.

The contest invites amateur photographers to submit photos of natural scenes in Oregon that they encounter as they explore the state.

The photo options are endless: They can be family shots against a natural backdrop as you travel across the state, scenic shots of your coastal vacation, creative pictures from Oregon mountaintops, or any other natural scenic picture you may choose to take.
How you can enter the contest:
Amateur photographers can submit photos via kgw.com by clicking on the link above, attaching their prize photos and filling out the enclosed online form. Please be sure to write the photographers name and e-mail address, in the entry form so they can be contacted. It's also important to include the photographers age, so judges know if they are eligible for the adult or youth prizes.

Or - -there is also another option -- visitors can log on at special wireless Internet stations set up at select parks and rest stops across the state. The Road Connect program is located at the following locations:
•Multnomah Falls, I-84, 29 miles east of Portland
•Ontario Safety Rest Area and Welcome Center, I-84, in Ontario Oregon
•Midland Rest Safety Area and Welcome Center, US-97, 8 miles south of Klamath Falls
•Valley of the Rogue Rest Area, I-5, 11 miles south of Grants Pass
•Harris Beach Rest Area and Welcome Center, US 101, 2 miles North of Brookings
•Valley of the Rogue State Park, I-5, 11 miles south of Grants Pass
•Harris Beach State Park, US 101, 2 miles North of Brookings
(Additional service points may be added in the future.)

Monthly winners:
A 24-month Oregon state park day-use pass ($40 value); photo featured on select weather segments on KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8.
Quarterly winners:
Adult (21+)
Gift certificates for overnight stays provided by Shilo Inns Suites Hotel:
1st place - 5 nights
2nd place - 3 nights
3rd place - 2 nights
Youth (up to age 21)
Gift certificates provided by Intel Oregon.
1st place - $200
2nd place: $100
3rd place - $50
Contest organizers reserve the right to award alternative prizes. Monthly and quarterly contest winners will also be featured on select weather segments on KGW Northwest Newschannel 8.
