Al Gore's in town tonight, talking about climate change.
So what have you done to help Earth these days?

I live in a complex in Wilsonville that backs up to a protected wetland. The complex was painting the buildings and the painters were trimming the trees to get their lift behind the building. They were cutting in the protected wetland. I got in my car and drove to city hall to find if they could be doing that. The city of Wilsonville immediately came to the complex to check it out. They were in clear violation and were fined several thousands of dollars for not knowing the meaning of "protected". I still have to see the destruction from my deck, but at least I saved the rest of the trees that would have been butchered had I not gone to the city.

I drive a car that averages 38mpg, I flipped most of my lights to compact fluorescent (except for those that simply won't fit in the fixture), I heat with natural gas, and I economize on my news by only watching Channel 8.

I think that people who believe in global warming would hold their breath for 1 hour, we might see a big drop in CO2 for a long time. But seriously, why is the rain forests of the Amazon are getting cut down at a alarming rate? If you dont have trees and plants you will have a bigger build up of co2. Thanks Vegans, for being part of the problem. Sarcasm off...

Living on the coast we have a solar hot water system installed in our home. We also drive a new diesel Jetta, green car of the year for 2009. I must comment on the individual speaking for Americans for Prosperity. American corporations have had a free ticket when it comes to polluting our planet since the industrial revolution started long ago. Maybe it is time to start paying up to clean up our little corner of the planet.
