A Salem man faces a federal charge of interfering with a flight crew for writing a comment card that made the captain of a flight from Portland to Maui return to PDX.
The captain says he felt threatened by the card, which mentioned "crash and burn," "landing in the ocean," and Gilligan's Island without Mary Ann or Ginger. The passenger, 56 year Joseph Hedlund, told agents he thought someone at the airline would find it funny.
What's your take? Did the captain overreact? Was turning around the prudent course of action?
