KGW Studio on the Square
Live @ 7 loves featuring the best of Portland's music, theater, literature, and food scenes. If you're part of an event you'd like us to feature during the PDX Tonight segment, please drop Producer Aaron an e-mail.
If you want to be on Live @ 7, keep this in mind:
- PDX Tonight events generally need to be within a 15-minute drive from downtown Portland. (Joe Smith literally races out of the building after the 6:30 news!)
- Something should be happening at or near 7:15 pm. Plays that open at 7:30 or 8:00 pm are great, especially if the actors or director are available to talk with us. Bands that have just completed their soundcheck and want to play a song live are great. Plays that open at 7:00 pm aren't so good, unless you want Joe Smith interrupting the first act.
- Beyond the arts, we love restaurant openings, cooking classes, festivals, fundraisers, and anything else with a roomful of people having a good time.
If you want to just come down to Pioneer Courthouse Square, we try to save a little time every night to talk to people on the bricks. No guarantees, though—this is live TV. It's always a good idea to give Producer Aaron a heads-up so we keep an eye out for you. It's also a good idea to check the Square's calendar to find out what else is going on that night.
Keep in mind that Square security will send you packing if you bring tables or anything else that rests on the bricks. In general, if you can carry it, you're all good. If you'd like to hold an event at Pioneer Courthouse Square, read up here.
