ICE WARNING FOR THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE TODAY 4:00 PM - WEDNESDAY 6:00 PM.
Ice accumulation in the gorge of .25" is expected. Power outages, property damage and very difficult travel on I-84 are all expected. Travel in the gorge later today should be avoided until the storm warning expires Wednesday. Freezing rain tonight will also be possible in pockets over the Cascade foothills.
Mostly dry into early afternoon over the metro valley with warming temps into the 40s. East winds continue to blow near the gorge, 15-35 mph. A period of steady rain arrives later this afternoon and rainy weather is likely this evening. Metro rainfall through the night could reach .50 inches. Mostly dry Wednesday morning, followed by a second shot of steady rain arriving during the afternoon.
Icy weather will also be possible tonight and Wednesday in central Oregon and the Columbia basin.
