Michael Sam delivered one of the best highlights of the preseason in the fourth quarter of the Rams-Browns game Saturday night when he sacked quarterback Johnny Manziel. Sam had two sacks in the game, and after downing Manziel he taunted his fellow rookie with Manziel's famous "money sign."
This was great news for Sam, but bad news for the guy who publicly promised to buy drinks for everyone if Sam sacked Manziel.
He tweeted that the morning of the game, and had no idea what would happen next.
And then it happened. Sam sacked Manziel, put up the money sign, and the internet erupted.
But it was all downhill from there for "Fisher King." Everyone in the Twittersphere did not let him live this down.
He immediately regretted his playful bet.
But even Michael Sam was paying attention. So when "Fisher King" tweeted out after the game, asking for Sam's favorite charity, he actually got a response.
So the bet does have a happy ending. According to ESPN, "Fisher King" said he is donating $500.
I think the lesson here is that if you make bets on Twitter, you better be prepared to pay up, in some form.
