Portland went back up by two goals at the 5:35 mark when Keegan Iverson found Matt Dumba at the top of the right faceoff circle, with Dumba firing a blast past Kozun for a 5-3 Hawks lead.

Midway through the period the Hawks struck again when a shot by Leipsic went off the post and then in off a Seattle defenseman to give Portland a 6-3 advantage. It became a 7-3 game at the 13:39 mark when Dumba fired one from the blueline that got through traffic and past Kozun, which rounded out the scoring.
