Seattle, WA--The effort to bring an NBA team to Seattle may have hit a snag.

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is part of the group working to build a sports complex in Seattle.

The area could be home to an NBA team and fill a hole in the city left when the Seattle SuperSonics moved to Oklahoma in 2009.

Now there's word that Ballmer is one of the leading candidates to buy the LA Clippers.

Ballmer reportedly met in person with Shelly Sterling over the weekend. The NBA is working to force the Sterlings to sell the team. She reportedly wants a deal in place by the end of the week.

Seattle leaders are concerned about the Ballmer development.

If one of the project's major financial backers is going to invest somewhere else, it would raise a red flag. said Councilman Nick Licata.

At this point the project is still moving forward.
