WASHINGTON -- The United State Supreme Court decided Tuesday it will not hear the case of an Oregon death row inmate who wants to be executed.
Gary Haugen was twice convicted of murder and was sentenced to death in 2007. He waived his legal appeals in 2011and demanded that the state carry out his death sentence.
But John Kitzhaber issued a reprieve and said he will not allow any executions as long as he is governor of Oregon.
The high court denied Haugen's petition without comment.
