LA CENTER, Wash. -- A La Center casino has closed its doors after 16 years in business.

The owner of Chips Casino closed due to lack of revenue and rising costs, including the Affordable Care Act and yearly increases in minimum wage, according to the Vancouver Business Journal.

Employees didn t find out about the closure until they arrived at work Monday, according to the report.
