PORTLAND An armed man held up a Southeast Portland convenience store Saturday night, police said.

Around 9:20 p.m., the man armed with a handgun walked into the Country Food Market at 5708 Southeast 136th Avenue and demanded cash from the woman behind the counter, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

He then took off on foot northbound on Southeast 136th Avenue, Simpson said.

The robber was describe as a Hispanic man in his 20s, 5-foot-4, weighing 150 lbs, with black hair and blue eyes.

He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie , a baseball cap and jeans. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 503-823-0405.
