HOODRIVER, Ore. -- A second teen died Saturday from a car crash along Interstate 84 west of Hood River early Thursday morning, Oregon State Police said.

The crash happened on the westbound side of the freeway about seven miles outside of Hood River just after 3:30 a.m.

Police said a two-door Honda Civic, driven by an 18-year-old Timmy Truang, lost control, slid across the road into the Wyeth Weigh Station truck scales and crashed into the back of a parked semi-truck.

Truang was pronounced dead on the scene. The passenger, Eric Tyler Smith, 18, was taken by ambulance to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center where he died Saturday, police said.
