PORTLAND -- The man accused of crashing into a pedestrian and killing her while he was driving drunk in downtown Portland pleaded no contest to 19 charges in a Multnomah County court Tuesday morning.

Brent Warstler, 42, of Cornelius, faced multiple charges including manslaughter and DUII in the Jan. 20 crash that killed 20-year-old Becky Bray of Gresham.

Warstler is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 3. He faces six to 12 years in prison.

Warstler posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail in February. On Tuesday, Judge Thomas Ryan agreed to let Warstler stay out of custody as long as he continues with AA and wears an ankle bracelet that monitors his location and alcohol consumption.

Warstler s driver s license will also be permanently revoked.
