A man is in custody in Hawaii after police arrested him in connection with the death of a woman from Portland.
Police arrested 38- year-old Nathaniel Cosby, a U.S. Marine, Wednesday morning at the Honolulu airport on suspicion of second degree murder.
Her family said Ivanice Ivy Harris was on vacation celebrating her 29th birthday with her boyfriend and a friend last month.
The last time they saw her was around 2 a.m. May 16th outside a Waikiki bar. Four days later, her body was found about an hour away from Waikiki in a rural area of Oahu.
Family friend Andre Miller said he s relieved after hearing news of the arrest just a couple of days after Ivanice Harris funeral in Portland.
He said investigators told the family Harris was strangled.
Police have not released a motive nor have they said what if any connection the man in custody has with the victim.
KGW showed a photo of the man in custody to Andre Miller, a friend of the victim.
Looks like a monster you know, and that s just me probably judging him, knowing the situation. But to me, you know, he s a monster, Miller said.
