PORTLAND -- The body of a man reported missing last December and pulled from the Willamette River a week ago was identified Wednesday as Matthew McConnell-Hegland.

Police said there was no indication of foul play in the death of the 29-year-old.

The body was spotted by staff of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers near the west bank, just south of the St. Johns Bridge.

McConnell-Heglund was reported missing on Dec. 22, leading to a search by friends and family.
