PORTLAND -- A man suspected of stealing from a Southeast Portland church has a warrant out for his arrest after failing to show up for court Wednesday.

Jeffrey Wilson, 45, was released on his own recognizance from the Multnomah Co. Jail on Monday, despite a long criminal history, including a theft conviction in February. He was slated to be in court Wednesday, but he failed to show up, so a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

Wilson is suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from Central Christian Church in February and March. A surveillance video showed him leaving on a bicycle after hitting every floor of the three-story church just before Palm Sunday services.

Detectives also said they were investigating the possibility that he was involved in other burglaries but no additional charges were pending at this time.
