BETHANY, Ore. --A man who allegedly attacked two deputies last month at an apartment complex in Bethany man was arrested Monday after his release from the hospital.
One deputy was injured.
The incident began as a welfare check at the Bethany Meadows Apartments, according to Sgt. Vance Stimler of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived to check on the 50-year-old man who lived in the unit, he opened the door and moved toward them with a knife, injuring one of them, Stimler said.
One of the two deputies then shot the man. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later identified as Jeffrey Allen Holmes.
Holmes was released from the hospital Monday and arrested. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $250,000.
