SALEM -- Police identified the body of a man found just off a roadway in NortheastSalem.

The body of 21-year old Devin Matlock was spotted near the intersection of NE Fisher and Devonshire Roads. He died of trauma to the head, an autopsy revealed.

He would have been 22 in two weeks, it's not fair, said Colleen Matlock, Devan's mother.

She described her son as the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back.

His body was discovered around 4:20 a.m., Tuesday on the gravel shoulder.

Down the road, the bodies of a woman and three children were found dead of homicidal violence after a house fire. Detectives were treating the two as separate crime scenes.
