PORTLAND -- Road construction and some popular events were expected to create congestion on Portland Metro area roadways this weekend, the Oregon Dept. of Transportation warned.
The top deck of the Fremont Bridge--Interstate 405 southbound--will again be closed from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, according to ODOT's Kimberly Dinwiddie. This will be the final weekend closure for the top deck of the bridge.
Drivers can take Interstate 5 south to I-405 northbound as a detour.
Drivers also should be aware that the three-day Oregon International Air Show begins this Friday at the Hillsboro Airport, Dinwiddie said. This event continues through Sunday and draws thousands of visitors each year.

Drivers should expect delays on area freeways and allow extra travel time during the peak travel hours between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Dinwiddie said.
