PORTLAND -- The funeral for murdered 14-year-old Portland girl Yashanee Vaughn was held Saturday at Portland's City Bible Church Rocky Butte Campus.
The smile that we have all grown to love and cherish has lit up even the darkest places in the most difficult times, family friend Ellon Manly said at the service. It's the million-dollar smile that will remain etched in the hearts of those who loved her.
Vaughn went missing in March. Her remains were found earlier this month, and Portland police said she had been shot in the head.
Her 16-year-old boyfriend was charged with murder.
