VANCOUVER -- Clark County commissioners have just said no to recreational marijuana production and sales outside city limits.

They voted Tuesday to effectively ban retail marijuana businesses from county land until the federal government legalizes it.

Background: Wash. approves marijuana legalization

A statewide measure legalized pot two years ago, but commissioners said allowing the sales would only put an added strain on county resources.

Supporters of retail marijuana sales said the county will be missing out on a new source of revenue.
