OREGON CITY, Ore. -- The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office increased the reward again on Oct. 28 for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of killing a county weighmaster.

The sheriff's office increased its reward to $25,000, up from $16,000, for leads about the Feb. 6 shooting death of 47-year-old Grady Waxenfelter.

Police have identified the suspect as Dirck Morgan White, 41, of Edgefield, Wash.

Waxenfelter stopped White while he was driving a truck loaded with firewood. White shot and killed Waxenfelter and then left the scene, according to the sheriff s office.

Pierce County has an active warrant for White's arrest on a weapons charge. White was also wanted for questioning regarding the rape of a child in Pierce County, said Lt. Robert Wurpes of the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office.

White was a delivery driver for O'Malley Brothers Trucking in Estacada, Ore. at the time of the murder.

He was described as an Hispanic man, 6 feet tall and weighing 190 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Deputies said he has an extensive criminal record.

Detectives said White may be driving a white, four-door, 2004 Mercedes 320 with the Washington license plate ANB7070.

Anyone with information that may help investigators was asked to call the Clackamas County Sheriff's tip line at 503-723-4949 or submit information online.

Waxentelter's wife won a wrongful death lawsuit against Clackamas County in September. She was awarded $700,000 in that case.
