PORTLAND Police released a sketch of a suspect who raped a woman last week in Northeast Portland s Grant Park.

The 22-year-old woman told police she was walking on Northeast 36th Avenue, near Grant High School, at about 7 p.m. when a man pulled up in a light-colored Chevy Tahoe or Blazer SUV, Simpson said.

A man got out of the vehicle, grabbed her, slammed her face into the side of the truck and dragged to the north end of Grant Park before sexually assaulting her, Simpson said.

The victim told investigators the suspect ran away and she returned home to call 911, Simpson said. She was treated at a Portland hospital for her injuries.

The suspect was described as a light or tanned skin man in his 20s, 5-foot-7, with large dark eyebrows and a thin scar from his upper lip to his cheek. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Crime Stoppers is also offering a $1000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information that could help investigators was urged to call detective Katie Manus at (503) 823-3774 or send her an email. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
