SILVERTON, Ore. -- Marion County health officials issued a health warning after a child with measles was treated in a Silverton Hospital and transferred to a Portland hospital, according to a newspaper report.

The Statesman-Journal reported that an adult in a Marion County home traveled outside the U.S. and upon return was the first in the family to show symptoms.

The rest of the family soon experienced rashes and fevers, with one child being treated on Jan. 12. The newspaper reported that a child visiting from Ukraine a year ago was diagnosed with measles, and that was the first case in Marion County since 2000.

There is no reason to believe the public is at risk, according to a health department statement referenced in the report.
