GRESHAM, Ore. -- An Oregon City woman died after she was ejected out of a friend's car that was turning onto a street in Gresham Wednesday night, police said.

Peggy J. Jennen, 73, died at the scene just after 11:30 p.m., according to detective John Rasmussen with the Gresham Police Department. Investigators said her friend, Lisa A. Wilson, 52, of Troutdale, was driving drunk when she turned from Northwest Division Street westbound to Northwest Bella Vista Place southbound and Jennen fell out of the car.

Curtis Kato, 58, of Gresham was driving eastbound on Northwest Division Street in the slow lane when Jennen suddenly fell in his path and he ran over her, Rasmussen said. Kato remained at the scene and was not facing any charges.

Wilson (pictured) was arrested on charges of DUII, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. Rasmussen said her blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit.

Wilson was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on $27,500 bail. She does not have any prior arrests for DUII.
