TILLAMOOK, Ore. -- Police arrested the driver of a stolen vehicle after he attempted to elude officers near Lee's Camp Monday afternoon.

Thomas Anthony White, 28, of Hillsboro was arrested south of Highway 6 near Lee's Camp after he fled on foot from a stolen vehicle into the woods. Lieutenant Gregg Hastings reported that a deputy was flagged down by loggers after they spotted a man matching White's description.

Tillamook police attempted to stop a stolen 2001 Chrysler that was speeding early Monday morning. The passenger in the vehicle was arrested but White, who was reported to be shirtless with one shoe, fled on foot.

White was charged with multiple crimes including felony attempt to elude in a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.

White was also wanted on an outstanding Washington County warrant.
