CAMAS, Wash. -- Fire destroyed a home in Camas Tuesday afternoon, but no injuries were reported, fire officials said.

The fire was reported just after 12:30 p.m. at a single-family home on Northwest Sierra Drive, said Camas fire chief Nick Swinhart.

When crews arrived the home was fully engulfed.

A defensive attack was taken to protect surrounding structures as the fire had grown too large, Swinhart said.

About 25 people from nine units extinguished the fire.

The home was considered a total loss. The homeowner said fire started on the deck, but the exact cause was not known, Swinhart said. No one was injured.
