ASHLAND, Ore. -- Searchers have found a Klamath County skier who went missing Sunday on Mount Ashland.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports that 52-year-old Carol Koon Of Chiloquin spent the night in a horse corral and was able to get service on her cellphone Monday morning.
A helicopter crew then saw her on a Forest Service road. Rescuers on a snow machine brought her back to the lodge, where she hugged family members.
She vanished after telling them she was going skiing in the steep, ungroomed area known as the bowl in the Mt. Ashland Ski Area.
She didn't make a 4 p.m. rendezvous with the family, and a search began. By Monday morning it included aircraft, snow machines and about 45 people.
