BORING, Ore. A man was injured and two of his pets were missing after a mobile home fire in Boring early Monday.

The fire broke out just before 5:30 a.m. at the home in the 32000 block of Compton Rd.

Firefighters said there was heavy smoke when they arrived and smoke alarms were blaring. The alarms awoke the homeowner and he was able to make it out of the house. He suffered cuts to his hands and feet.

Investigators said there were also two dogs and a cat in the home at the time of the fire. One dog safely escaped. The other two family pets were missing after the fire, according to Tammy Owen, a spokeswoman with the Boring Fire Department.

The Fire Marshal remained on the scene and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Owen said.
